Sales Person Wanted

Job Title: Regional Sales Person – Energy Efficient Equipment (Midlands/East Midlands Region)

Company: Carbon Energy Ltd

Location: Based from home

Reporting Structure: To Business Development Director and Board

General Purpose: To increase profitable sales of energy efficient equipment in the commercial sector.  To plan and carry out sales activities on assigned accounts and geographical areas from your own and Carbon Energy prospect lists.  Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction in the sales process of a range of high quality technical products and their implementation

Main Job Tasks:  

  • Generate and qualify leads through telephone sales calling, email campaigns and client visits
  • Obtain as many client referrals as possible and capitalise on developing these warm leads
  • Prepare sales action plans and strategies with the objective of increasing profitable business
  • Become familiar with all company products and services and the benefits they will produce
  • Scheduled disciplined sales activity of calling, visiting and following up
  • Make telephone sales calls, respond to all incoming emails and visit existing clients with potential repeat business
  • Maintain company Google diary of visits
  • Input all data and contact information into Zoho customer database (training will be provided)
  • Participate in discussions on all marketing and sales activities
  • Visit potential clients once data has been obtained and informal confirmation that an “in principle” budget exists
  • Make presentations of company products, services and benefits to potential clients
  • Negotiate with clients within given financial parameters and focus on diminishing any objections they may have
  • Close the sales process with the provision of email confirmation or purchase order from the client
  • Develop a relationship with engineering teams to use their expertise and technical verification of sales offer when appropriate
  • Discuss verification of implementation results with clients (training will be given)
  • Maintain sales activity records on Zoho and within Carbon Energy Microsoft personal folders
  • Respond to any incoming sales enquiries or concerns as required by the customer
  • Monitor competitive activity - provide information gained in particular all pricing including cost of installation and capital equipment.  Feedback this information to management
  • Be available to report to Business Development Director (or other members of Carbon Energy)
  • Ensure customer service satisfaction and good client relationships maintained
  • Monitor and report sales activities and follow up
  • Conduct market research and surveys
  • Participate in sales events
  • Carry out any other reasonable requests from Directors to assist in business development of Carbon Energy          

Expectation: Sales person will be visiting clients between 2.5 and 3 days per week

Education, Training & Experience

  • Educated at least to A levels, with at least 1 science or maths.  A degree in physics or engineering disciplines would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications
  • Knowledge of principles and good practice of sales activity
  • Knowledge of customer service principles
  • Knowledge of good business principles
  • Experience of sales
  • Experience in making presentations
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets

Remuneration: Basic salary £30,000 pa, Commission at 3% of turnover directly generated

Transport: Full driving licence – preferably clean. Options to drive own car at 45ppm or provision of fully expensed company leased car

Holiday: 22 working days per annum for first year, 25 days second year onwards, plus all bank holidays
